It’s not only Another day at Chris Liebing’s office as he officially releases his brand new album on Mute Records!

When it comes to creating a transcendent, life-changing journey that takes you through moody atmospheres into dark dramatic spaces, the pioneer of techno in Germany Chris Liebing is the man for the job! Since the 90s, the boss of CLR has been making waves around the world with unique projects like his philosophy Evolution and Burn slowly, one of the most intense bodies of work to honor the industry. Lucky for us, Chris decided to add a follow-up chapter to the Burn slowly saga and officially released their new album, Another day to Disable recordings!

Now, in order to smolder this tour with nostalgia, some of the same artists were featured on Burn slowly should be invited again and Chris is not in the market to disappoint. First and foremost say hello to the incomparable Ralf Hildenbeutel acting as a co-producer on the project as he did in 2018. Additionally, the late Miles Cooper Seaton, previously featured on “Card House”, welcomes us on the journey with “Foul line. “We were heartbroken to learn of his passing earlier this year, and hearing his incredible voice on this offer will certainly bring tears to our eyes.

Then it’s the one and only, Polly Scattergood. As the singer who brought “And All Went Dark” to life, it was exciting to see her return for the album’s title track. But, this group of passionate music creators couldn’t keep all the fun to themselves as Liebing also called on the unwavering talents of Maria uzor, Tom adams, and Ladan Hussein who takes Another day to unexplored levels!

Considering this to be a great collaborative effort, Chris Liebing adds another artist to the mix, namely the big boss of Mute Records, Daniel Miller, which offered a contribution to the shaping of the album and injected additional flair with his personal modular setup. With all the pieces in place, the next path for Liebing will be to reimagine the album with a host of club mounts, in addition to preparing a documentary to be released in the summer of 2022. Stay tuned for more details!

Another day is now available on clear double vinyl and CD, both with a silver finish and a 16 page booklet, as well as digitally. Grab your copy from your favorite music platform, stream the album below, and continue for our rendition of the tracks!

As a big fan of Burn slowly, my mind vibrates with pure elation as I hit the play button Another day!

Foul line”Turns the gears with crisp sound waves and sweet lyrics from Miles Cooper Seaton. Like a moth to a flame, I am drawn to the magnificent poetic imagery. Suddenly the tale turns into a sung melody, filling the waves with flashes of lyrical attitude. With this track literally being the opening track, my jaw hits the floor as I realize how shamelessly intense this album is going to be.

Reasons”, Starring Maria Uzor, stays in the same creepy lane and I’m absolutely cradled deep within myself as I slip into a hellish reverie. The presentation of the lyrics hits my brain like a red alert, her voice vibrates to the depths of my soul. The progression of this track makes my hips sway from side to side and as I try to catch my breath the melody changes. As the mood begins to improve, the shadows recede for a brief moment.

10 West”Flies away like a gentle breeze with simple synth sounds balancing the heavy slap of the bassline. I see this track as a bridge between the opening tunes which are drenched in evil power and the following tune, “Circles”Which transports us to 80s territory. Featuring a solid vocal performance by Tom Adams, this track makes me feel good about the world as I close my eyes and soak up the unpretentious melody. .

Halfway through, I can’t help but appreciate all the wonderfully vibrant sides of our beloved Chris Liebing!

Something halfway”Is simply satisfying from start to finish! I love the way the synth notes seem to bounce left to right through the speakers, teasing my ears as a gritty crescendo takes center stage. This track has some lovely ethereal elements that make me want to stretch out my arms and take flight while staying true to the darkness that desperately wants to return.

Almost like Chris is reading my mind, he slips into the spooky soundscape of “Another Day”, starring the talented Polly Scattergood! This track is exactly what I was looking for, with its choppy aural detail and whimsical story to create suspense. Once again, I find myself drifting into my subconscious as Polly massages my mind with her comforting tone. Can I stay here forever?

As I consider mashing the snooze button on “Another Day” over and over again, “Cause and effect”Catches my attention and I am plunged back into reality. Similar to the vibe of “10 West”, we have a track that acts as a bridge between fantastic worlds. I’m obsessed with the humming pauses smoldering with eccentric energy, determined to shake my body into submission.

Going back on the train to the land of the imagination, the breath of “Whispers & Sons”Makes me want to groove. Ladan Hussein’s passionate voice is welcoming and warm, a detail appreciated because the deep nuance leads me to swim in a vast ocean of sounds. The magnificent melodic ebb and flow makes me paddle the turquoise waters and I find myself swimming side by side with the majestic creatures of the abyss.

Just when I think this album couldn’t be more magical, “Hollow Town” touches my heart like a sweet kiss from an angel.

We went from dark and demonic to beautiful and ethereal in the blink of an eye and it’s “Hollow city”Which reminds me why I am so desperately in love with electronic dance music. With the shimmering melody dancing overhead, Tom Adams uses his voice to paint a picture of loneliness, but I can’t help but feel so whole and complete. The sweet choral hymn lights up the night and I am overwhelmed with the urge to grab the closest human and hold him in a loving embrace.

Unfortunately, all good things come to an end and “Closing”Delivers the full circle pushed back into an energy field that thrills the spine. I love the technical kick that shines through all the eclectic details, giving my feet something to do as the woozy synth waves make me feel drunk without a drop of alcohol. And that, my friends, is a job well done!

So done Another day live up to the hype? He most certainly did and then some!

From start to finish, Chris Liebing and his friends allowed me to get away from it all while keeping me entertained. I was pushed to the edge of my seat, lifted on tiptoes, pulled into the clouds and plunged into the trenches. That being said, I think he may be from another planet because his talent and abilities are far beyond human comprehension.
