Drake reveals that “Certified Lover Boy” is heading into the mixing phase.

Last night, Sound 42’s Fri Yiy Friday show featured a rare appearance by Drizzy Drake who shared an update on the status of his upcoming album. The rapper told the show’s hosts OVO Mark & OVO Noel that he was returning to the city of Toronto to mix the album. “You know, Uncle Drake is back home to mix the album, so she has a bunch of new songs coming up,” Drizzy said. “Coming home to meet my mate and finish this thing … CLB on the way. On your head.”

So the album is officially heading into the mixing stages, but when can we expect it to drop? Rumors started circulating this week that he could possibly arrive this weekend. Dana White has revealed that among the massive events unfolding in Las Vegas this week is the release of Boy in love certified. Interestingly enough, Drake mentions returning to Las Vegas to “try my luck one last time” when he appeared on OVO Sound Radio. Maybe we’ll have a new single?

During the NOME XI URL battle in June, Drake announced that the album would arrive before the end of the summer. Since the album is now in the mixing stage, we may finally have a release date soon.
