After announcing the lineup of the London Taylor Hawkins tribute concert, FOO FIGHTERS and the Hawkins family has now revealed the artists who will perform the September 27 tribute show in Los Angeles. Performing at the Kia Forum will be Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson of RUSH, Nikki Sixx of MOTLEY CRUE, Miley Cyrus, Joshua Man of STONE AGE QUEENS, Joan Jett, Brian May of QUEEN, Marc Ronson, Alanis Morissette, Gene Simmons of EMBRACE, Chad Smith of HOT RED PEPPERS, Wolfgang Van Halen of MAMMOTH WVHand more.
Tickets for both concerts will be available beginning Friday, June 17 at 9:00 a.m. local time.
Proceeds will go to charities in the UK and US chosen by the Hawkins family.
As one of the most respected and beloved figures in modern music, taylorHis monolithic talent and magnetic personality endeared him to millions of fans, peers, friends and other musical legends around the world. Millions mourned his untimely passing on March 25, with passionate and heartfelt tributes from fans as well as musicians taylor idolatrous. The Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts will bring together several of these artists, the Hawkins his family and, of course, his FOO FIGHTERS brothers in the celebration of taylorthe memory of and his legacy as a global rock icon – his bandmates and inspirations playing the songs he fell in love with and those he brought to life.
Hawkins was found dead at the Four Seasons Casa Medina hotel in Bogota.
An official cause of death for Hawkins has not yet been published. But on March 26, Colombia’s attorney general’s office released a preliminary toxicology report, saying forensic scientists had found evidence of 10 types of substances in Hawkinsof the body, including opioids, benzodiazepines, marijuana, and antidepressants.
Hawkins joined FOO FIGHTERS in 1997. Before that, he played with the band Orange County SYLVIA and was also in the backing band for Airlock Jordan. He also toured with Alanis Morissette as his drummer.
Hawkins was inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year as a member of the FOO FIGHTERS.
