Meet hip-hop artist Canyon, originally from New York. After their hit single “Shark Tank” featuring Raekwon of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan, Canyon returned to the scene with new musical warmth. With their latest single, “Friends”, Canyon is heading in a new creative direction.

What sets you apart from other artists?

What differentiates me from other artists is the multitude of atmospheres that I create. I’m unique in that my songs don’t really fit into a mold. I have my own authentic sound that continues to develop as I grow.

How would you define your personal brand?

I would define my brand as authentic. I want to leave a legacy, to do good, to be light sometimes, serious at others. A person who treats everyone as an equal and is brave enough to talk about real things in life. It feels like this is quickly resonating with many people around the world.

How would you define your sound?

As for how I would define my sound, it’s very creative and eclectic. A nice mix of more experimental rap type Kid Cudi, Mac Miller, Tyler the Creator. I also have 50 high quality straight bars on “Shark Tank” with Raekwon from Wu-Tang Clan. I’m a student of acting, and you can hear it in my music.

If you could go back five years and tell yourself one thing, what would it be?

I was like, you’re on the right track, and you’re not mistaken about who you think you could be. Keep writing lyrics and keeping the blade sharp, and your day will come.

What’s next for you?

my scrapbook Meanwhile is the following. I have musical features from artists such as Big KRIT, Jadakiss, Raekwon, Slim Thug, Kxng Crooked, Lou from Paradise, and more. It’s a crazy mix of new school old school sounds, and the album really tells a complete story. Before that, I will release the video for my song “Friends”, which I hope everyone will enjoy.

Canyon’s music is now streaming across all music platforms.
