New York’s Avant Gardner revokes vaccination warrant for attending events – EDM.com

Two weeks ago, Brooklyn-based electronic music hall Avant Gardner shared an announcement demanding that attendees be vaccinated for all upcoming shows. However, in response to New York State’s cancellation of COVID-19 restrictions, Avant Gardner revoked his vaccination mandate.

Earlier this week, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo lifted major state orders on social distancing requirements, capacity limits, health exams and cleaning protocols. The governor’s statement followed a milestone in which 70% of New York’s adult population had received at least one dose of the vaccine. Now, it is up to private companies to adopt or abandon COVID-19 security policies for customers.

From the start, Avant Gardner made it clear that its vaccine mandate was necessitated by local mandates. Public outcry in response to Avant Gardner’s vaccine policy even prompted them to break their rationale and appease the local electronic music community on social media. So it’s no surprise that the electronic music hotspot is rapidly changing course in response to the relaxed restrictions.

Avant Gardner’s Summer Oasis The Brooklyn Mirage is gearing up for a huge range of events starting next month. REZZ, Zedd, Black Coffee, deadmau5 and DJ Snake are just a few of the headliners set to bring New York’s electronic music scene back to its pre-pandemic buzz.
