Singer Emeli Sande has come out as bisexual as she reveals her newfound romance with her “soul mate” Yoana.
Taking to social media, Sande, who had previously been married to Adam Gouraguine for two years, said her new partner was an “extraordinary woman”.
“It took me many years to find the strength to be myself. I have struggled for a long time to accept myself as I am,” she shared on Twitter.
“I am so lucky to have found my soul mate Yoana, she is such an extraordinary woman!
“Falling in love with her gave me the strength I needed! It feels so good to be in love and I feel happier than ever.”
“I am deeply touched by all of your messages of love and support. Thank you so much for the acceptance and well wishes. It feels like a huge weight has been lifted, here is a new beginning in truth and happiness,” she added.
When a fan asked her if she considered herself bisexual, she replied, “I guess so.”
“I don’t know what I identify with, but I just feel like I should fall in love with the person I fall in love with.”
Opening up about their relationship, she told Metro: “We met through music and I definitely feel happier than ever. He feels great.
“To me, true love and having love in your life sets everything up.”
Her fourth album, Let’s Say For Instance, is due out later this year.
“If you don’t really have someone to share it with or someone supporting you behind the scenes, it’s very difficult.
“So now I feel very fulfilled: I will always love music and I love my career, but now I feel like despite what’s going on, I can just enjoy life and be really happy. “
