PLANS are in place for Stuart Mill to host a three-day electronic music festival from December 4-6, 2021. After hosting the event in Marysville for two years, 2018 and 2019, the organizers of the Wild Horses music festival are looking for to bring it to the area, with an application for planning permission from the Northern Grampians Shire Council. The documents outline plans for a COVID-safe event with around 2,000 attendees. The event for all ages would be hosted on private property at Stuart Mill, with guests camping on site. Alcohol will not be sold at the event, with a limited number of BYOs available. Wild Horses festival organizer Yaron Bruck said a $ 20,000 plan to build an access road to the event site will be awarded to a local business. “The local community of Stuart Mill has agreed to have a rent-free food stand and plan to donate all funds raised to their local firefighters,” he said. They are knowledgeable about nature and the environment and are very respectful. The Northern Grampians County Council will have to decide whether or not the event will take place. Organizers submitted several planning documents to the council, including noise, traffic and waste management plans, as well as emergency and fire management documents.
