If you missed live music as much as we did, we’ve got a gift for you!

The Mary Winspear Center brought him back for their Seaside Sessions concert series featuring exclusive performances from a handful of talented artists, and you’re invited.

Are you ready to get back into the mix? Mary Winspear is giving away two tickets to see Tanika Charles in October – contest details are below!

Despite being known as soul music‘s best-kept secret, Toronto-based Tanika Charles has now become a staple in the genre both at home and abroad.

With a lively and endearing spectacle, she continues to gain audiences on one stream, one shazam, and one encore all at once.

Tanika released her debut album Soul Run in 2016, which was shortlisted for the 2016 Polaris Music Prize and nominated for the 2017 Juno Award for Best R & B / Soul Recording of the Year.

Tanika’s 2019 sophomore album The Gumption picks up where Soul Run left off, continuing its tradition of marrying classic soul with modern production and instrumentation.

Once again, she was shortlisted for the 2019 Polaris Music Prize and had the honor of being named the inaugural Polaris Artist-in-Residence for 2020 at the Studio Bell Center national de musique.

On top of that, The Gumption was nominated for R & B / Soul Recording of the Year at the 2020 Juno Awards.

Backed by her band The Wonderfuls, Tanika has completed five international tours since the release of Soul Run, performing for fans in nine countries.

His live performances seamlessly evolve between interpretations of his studio recordings and the revealing influences of rock, gospel and country.

In addition to performing her original material, Tanika made her theater debut in the 2017 touring production Freedom Singer.

Tickets for Tanika Charles’ show at the Mary Winspear Center are now available for purchase in line.
